The Dripping Springs High School swim teams delivered an impressive performance at the UIL Region VII meet in San Antonio, sending multiple athletes to the state championships in Austin and continuing a strong tradition of excellence in the pool.

Leading the way was senior standout Laurel Hoskovec, who qualified for state in four events: 200-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle relay, and 400-yard freestyle relay. She set school records in both individual events and posted top regional finishes, including second in the 500 freestyle and fourth in the 200 freestyle.

The girls’ relay teams also rose to the occasion, earning state qualification in both freestyle relays with strong, cohesive performances. At the state meet, the Lady Tigers finished 14th overall with 73 team points. Hoskovec capped her high school career with a third-place finish in the 500 freestyle and a top-10 finish in the 200 freestyle, while both relay teams scored valuable points in the finals.

On the boys’ side, Zachary Collins delivered an outstanding showing at state, earning third-place finishes in both the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events. The boys’ 200 freestyle relay also secured a sixth-place finish.

Overall, it was a season defined by determination, teamwork, and standout performances on the biggest stage.
