DSISD Enrollment Is Open for 2026–27 — Here's What Dripping Springs Families Need to Do
If your family is new to Dripping Springs — or you have a child starting school for the first time next fall — Dripping Springs ISD has opened enrollment for the 2026–27 school year. Here's what you need to know before you start.
Who Needs to Register
This applies to any new student entering the district, including:
- Kindergarteners starting in fall 2026
- Families who recently moved to Dripping Springs
- Students transferring from private school, homeschool, or another district
- Pre-K families (placement is lottery-based)
If your child is already enrolled in DSISD and staying at the same school, you don't need to do anything. Only students who are new to the district need to complete this process.
How to Register
Everything is handled online:
- K–12 enrollment: dsisdtx.us/registration
- Pre-K lottery: dsisdtx.us/pk
If you're unsure which school your child would attend, the registration system includes an Address Look-Up feature that maps your home address to the correct campus. For questions, reach DSISD's main office at 512.858.3000.
What to Have Ready
When you create your enrollment account, you'll typically need:
- Proof of residency (utility bill or lease agreement)
- Child's birth certificate
- Immunization records
- Previous school records (if transferring from another school)
Having these documents scanned and ready to upload will make the process faster.
A Note on Pre-K
Pre-K placement isn't guaranteed — it's allocated by lottery. If you have a child who would be eligible for Pre-K in 2026–27, entering the lottery sooner rather than later is the right move.
Spots fill up. The earlier you're in the system, the better positioned your family is.
Why It Matters
Dripping Springs ISD is one of the top-performing school districts in the Austin metro, and it's one of the main reasons families move to the area. Getting enrollment started now — especially if you're new to the community — means fewer surprises before the school year begins.
The district is also planning for a second high school (HS2) as the area continues to grow. Enrollment numbers directly inform those planning decisions. Registering early helps the district serve your family — and future families — better.
