🍺💥 Beer of the Week: Lunch 💥🍺 India Pale Ale | 7% ABV

This week at Mercer St Taproom, we’re pouring Lunch from Maine Beer Company — a bold, hop-forward IPA inspired by a legendary fin whale first spotted off the Maine coast in 1982 by researchers at Allied Whale at College of the Atlantic.

Allied Whale is home to the world’s largest library of photo-identified whales, tracking them by studying patterns, fin shapes, and identifying marks. “Lunch” is easy to recognize — she has what looks like a bite taken out of her fin.

Just as memorable as its namesake, this IPA delivers vibrant aromas of caramel, orange, papaya, and grapefruit layered with subtle floral notes and hints of onion and garlic. Brewed with Amarillo, Centennial, and Simcoe hops for a bright, expressive finish.
